Adelle Nqeto can write the quietest songs in the world – if she wants to. But in just the first few notes, the South African Berliner pivots intensely from minimalist, contained guitar music to a widescreen full-band sound, something rarely heard within the sprawling sea of singer-songwriters. After gaining her first experience in the duo Flint, Meet Spark between 2012 and 2014, she went solo with her 2016 single »Make Something Beautiful« and has continued to follow the titular instructions with her debut EP »Lights.« Across four studio recordings and one live track, the ostensible coming-of-age story in fact shows a peerless maturity from the »Goethe Talents« alum. In its quiet as well as its loud moments.
