»Afrobeats« is an umbrella term for contemporary mainstream African pop music, which makes heavy use of the Auto-Tuning technology. While some Afrobeats tracks are massive club hits on the continent and throughout the diaspora, others are under-the-radar gems that are local favourites. During her set, a true digital digger of the genre will be sharing a selection of her favourite songs featuring the audio processing software. Nerima Groove has been active in Hamburg’s Afro scene since 2011, making her one of the country’s pioneer DJs in bringing the Afrobeats and Afrotrap sounds to German dancefloors. Curator Boris Paillard alias DJ Mixanthrope is happy to welcome her to Berlin to continue her journey at this special edition of »African Beats & Pieces« at Pop-Kultur.
