Born outside of Freiburg, Dirk von Lowtzow couldn’t stand the city’s cyclists and so moved to Hamburg, which turned out to be a wise decision in the continuation of German music history. Since 1993, he’s released twelve albums with the band Tocotronic and written more lovely lines than can be tattooed on your average human body. And because Lowtzow’s output goes even further than that, he decided to catalog himself: in February, he released the literary encyclopedia »Aus dem Dachsbau« (»From the Sett«), working through all key phrases from the Lowtzow cosmos from ABBA to plushophilia to Black Forest hell. For his reading at Pop-Kultur, he’ll show us his voice is equally suited to audiobooks as it is to rock songs.
