Sizarr were appointed the new indie hope of Germany but called it quits last year right as they were becoming a sure-fire success. After P.A. Hülsenbeck, Fabian Altstötter is the second band member to start from zero as a solo artist. As Jungstötter, he recorded his debut album »Love Is,« a powerful artistic statement somewhere between songwriter gloom and expressive singing. Fans of Nick Cave and Scott Walker can meet for a bottle of wine or three over these songs and learn about a generation that thought its world was wide open, till all horizons shut abruptly. That sounds dramatic, just as it’s supposed to. Altstötter has proven once and for all that he doesn’t do things halfway.
