This talk, presented by Missy and moderated by the magazine’s publisher Sonja Eismann, brings together Rusia Shuma, singer of Shuma, and the activist Andrei Zavalei from Delo Pi_. The campaign both memorialises Michael Pischevsky, the victim of a brutal homophobic attack in Minsk, Belarus, in 2014 and is dedicated to public education and strengthening the local LGBTQI* community. The video »Хмаркі« (»Clouds«) by the duo Shuma captured the theme of the flash mob #superparents just as it provided a haunting narrative on the relationship between parents and their LGBTQI* children, based on the story of Valeria Shendera. »Superparents« will address the mechanisms of social exclusion and structural discrimination, as well as how to overcome them.
