This talk, presented by Missy and moderated by the magazine’s publisher Sonja Eismann, brings together Rusia Shuma, singer of Shuma, and the activist Andrei Zavalei from Delo Pi_. The campaign both memorialises Michael Pischevsky, the victim of a brutal homophobic attack in Minsk, Belarus, in 2014 and is dedicated to public education and strengthening the local LGBTQI* community. The video »Хмаркі« (»Clouds«) by the duo Shuma captured the theme of the flash mob #superparents just as it provided a haunting narrative on the relationship between parents and their LGBTQI* children, based on the story of Valeria Shendera. »Superparents« will address the mechanisms of social exclusion and structural discrimination, as well as how to overcome them. There’s so much to talk about.
