Pop-Hayat is about discourse, visibility and (living) space. It will all be made possible during Pop-Kultur on the Kulturbrauerei premises, away from the hustle and bustle of the festival, talks, DJ sets and concerts. The performative installation »Çaystube« (»Çay Room«) by Nuray Demir and Yeşim Duman is opening its doors every day from 18.00 to 23.00, when host Ahmet Sitki Demir will greet guests with open arms as tea flows from the samovar – or for the mocha-thirsty, on Friday, Sabuha Sultan will tell your fortune based on your coffee grounds. What’s in store for the future? We at least know this: the »Çaystube« will feature a continuous sound installation by Neda Sanai aka Nedalot, on Wednesday a performance by Nasanin Dahaghin aka Nas Tea, and on Thursday a concert by Derya Yıldırım. From stimulating conversation to caffeinated drinks, from restful breaks to invigorating music, the »Çaystube« offers a space for community, exchange and retreat all at once.
