The »Pop-Hayat Talk« deals with the topics of gender relations, race and the situation of female artists in pop culture from a post-migrant perspective. Essentially, it’s about creating more spaces for women and non-binary people of color, dissolving thresholds and empowering minorities to gain visibility. Who has access, and who doesn’t? How can events be developed in connection with social media and new technologies that low-income and marginalised communities in particular can benefit from? Joined by İpek İpekçioğlu aka DJ Ipek, the artist and curator Nuray Demir and Dr. Reyhan Şahin aka Lady Bitch Ray, Pop-Hayat curator Yeşim Duman will discuss forms of connectedness that can work beyond identity and social differences. How can we think of gender equality and class as a feminist project?
