Kaltenkirchen. 21.00–21.30 / Concert. Under the stage name Kaltenkirchen Philip Maria Stoeckenius dedicates himself to the genre of anti-Schlager. Lyrically inspired by German pop, contemporary literature, and Hesse’s surreal characters, his words unite with melodies from Schlager music, attempting to overcome the border between kitsch and punk. Lyschko. 21.50–22.20 / Concert. Looking for answers to the essential questions of Generation Y – »Who am I?« and »Who do I want to be« – the four young musicians of Lyschko find themselves somewhere between despair and romance, current post-punk and eighties wave music. Madanii. 22.40–23.10 / ConCert. The feeling of otherness is all too familiar to Dena Madani, who was born the daughter of Iranian refugees in Germany. Together with producer and partner-in-crime L:LUCID, she’s blending traditional Iranian instruments like ney, santur and kamanche with futuristic synth hooks, Middle Eastern melodies and percussion with booming bass. Jeslla. 23.30–00.00 / ConCert. Jesslyn Juniata is a composer, synthesizer player and vocalist of Jeslla, an Indonesian independent electronic ambient duo based in Jakarta. With a mixture of electronic sounds and ambient moods, Jeslla seeks to explore the relationship between music, technology and science, re-creating melodies in polyrhythmic beats. Teenage Granny. 00.00–01.00 / DJ set. Alyana Cabral aka Teenage Granny, singer and multi-instrumentalist from Manila, Philippines, owes her diverse musical palate to the sounds of her childhood, informed by her father’s record collection and his work as a disc jockey. This led her to a multifaceted expression, involving bands and projects within Manila's underground scene spanning disco and funk, psych-garage-dance and brutal-musique concrète. Fritz Unsigned plays music that can’t be found on the market but is nonetheless worth hearing. Whatever kind of music it is, or how it’s made – as long as it sounds good and the band creating it doesn’t yet have a contract, it’s fair game for Unsigned. Since its first edition, Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs has earned great support from its partner Fritz Unsigned as a partner, especially from moderator Christoph Schrag. Free entry.
