Repetitor let us know indirectly where their influences lie. The name of the Serbian band, founded in 2005, is the translation of »repeater,« and »Repeater« is the title of the first and perhaps best Fugazi album. Repetitor’s rough, noisy post-punk clearly harks back to US indie of the late eighties and early nineties but with a style of their own, and not just musically. As one of the leading groups of the New Serbian Scene, they put salt in the wound with their lyrics – exclusively in Serbian – which have also been published in an anthology of former-Yugoslavian rock poetry. Albums like 2016’s »Gde ćeš« are accordingly raw in sound and uncompromising in expression.
