Whether DJing, producing or organizing events, more and more feminist collectives are popping up in the music world, often arising from a political agenda. Power dynamics get called into question, and marginalised people get to speak up. This kind of mutual empowerment and knowledge-sharing can bring small steps toward big structural changes. Isabelle Edi (who brought the Hamburg party series Possy to life), DJ duo Bad&Boujee (Elisabeth Taruvinga Mtasa and Enyonam Tetteh-Klu from Vienna) and Leyla Yenirce (co-founder of the Hamburg collective One Mother) will discuss the potentials and challenges of working collectively as well as the balancing act between DIY and cultural institutions.
