Station 17 has existed for more than three decades, and the featured guests on their albums are more imposing than most mainstream rap records. But the mainstream steers clear from the band just as much as it does avoids the topic of disability in general. That’s why Kai Boysen’s band, with an ever evolving lineup, came into existence: as the first genuinely inclusive band in Germany. As of 2019, Station 17 can look back at nine albums and celebrate the release of two more: »Werkschau« (»Retrospective«) is an overview of their back catalog, while »Ausblick« (»Forecast«) looks straight ahead, with like-minded musicians such as Faust, Datashock, Andreas Spechtl and Ulrich Schnauss. The results find Station 17 sounding as krauty-dubby-fiddly as in their best moments. So listen up!
