In the documentary »Everybody in the Place: An Incomplete History of Britain 1984-1992,« commissioned by Gucci and realised by art magazine Frieze, artist Deremy Deller confronts a number of sixth-form politics students with the glory days of rave in the U.K. But what do those who were actually present think? Musician, artist, author and filmmaker Danielle de Picciotto was born in the USA and in 1987 moved to Germany, where she was one of the founders of a demonstration that made its first move through Berlin on the 1st of July, 1989: the Loveparade. After publishing her Berlin memoirs with »The Beauty of Transgression« in 2012, she spoke with Felix Denk and Sven von Thülen for their oral history »Der Klang der Familie« (»The Sound of Family«) in 2014, discussing what happened when the sounds from Chicago, Detroit and the British scene arrived in Berlin and migrated into the mainstream. In their conversation, de Picciotto and von Thülen will further explore this topic.
