The One Mother collective was founded in 2016 to offer new perspectives for the Hamburg scene – feminist, queer, non-white. Rosaceae, also performing the commissioned work »A Cause So Heavy« for Pop-Kultur, used haunting drone and ambient music to retell the Daesh’s genocide of the Yazidi population on her EP »Nadia’s Escape,« issued in the spring. Preach proved herself as well versed in all varieties of R&B and hip-hop on her release »Soft und Cuntig,« and Natasha P. first appeared in early 2018 with the EP »Muay Thai,« showing that wavey pop can always be a breeding ground for sonic experimentation. Following One Mother’s recent curation of the GLOBAL FEMINIST BAD(B)ASS club night at Kampnagel in Hamburg, Natasha P. and Preach, backed by a DJ, are bringing One Mother to stage at Pop-Kultur.
