What do you do when one day, you notice that the music you grew up with is super problematic? What do you do when you get political and realise that your former heroes and heroines are only talking trash? Why do so few women rap? Why do women sing along to misogynist lyrics? Aren’t feminism and hip-hop at odds with one another? The self-proclaimed Social Media Justice Warrioress Lena Grehl and DJ Miriam Davoudvandi – both music journalists, feminists and rap fans – will attempt to offer explanations and problem-solving approaches in this talk with rapper Ebow. Spoiler: you won't have to stop listening to rap afterwards.
