There’s a certain irony in the fact that Teresa Rotschopf released her album »Messiah« on a label by the name of comfortzone. That’s because the Austrian musician not the kind to take the easy way out. Instead, she brings the pain into the studio. Over the course of several years, together with veteran producer Patrick Pulsinger and no fewer than 18 guest musicians, Rotschopf let her vision of »dark, electronic organ music« come to maturity. This is still a rather modest description for what the former member of Bunny Lake spreads across nine tracks. »Messiah« moves way beyond the comfort zone with subtle trip-hop beats, indie electro-pop leanings and steel-guitar atmospherics.
